Privacy Policy
How My AI Off handles privacy for the Chrome and Microsoft Edge extension and the myaioff.com website.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how My AI Off handles information for the Chrome and Microsoft Edge extension and for visitors to myaioff.com. The extension is designed to work locally in your browser. Version 1 does not use a backend, remote analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party SDKs inside the extension.
Browser extension privacy
My AI Off is a browser extension for Chrome and Microsoft Edge that hides or marks selected AI-related interface elements on supported websites. The extension changes pages locally in your browser and does not send page content to My AI Off servers.
What the extension stores
The extension stores only local settings needed to operate the product, including enabled modules, UI preferences, host-permission state, debug mode, YouTube matching options, New Tab search preference, local result messages, and local diagnostic counters. This data is stored in browser extension storage on your device.
What the extension reads
When you enable a module, the extension reads the visible page structure on that supported site only to detect matching interface elements and apply local UI changes. Supported sites are Google Search, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. The extension does not need access to unrelated websites for its normal feature set.
What the extension does not collect
- The extension does not collect or sell personal information.
- The extension does not send search queries, page text, video titles, comments, social feed content, or browsing content to remote servers.
- The extension does not store email content, page content, screenshots, or browsing history on My AI Off servers.
- The extension does not include remote analytics, tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs in version 1.
Extension permissions
Host access is requested only when you enable the related module. Google Search access is used to hide AI Overview blocks. YouTube access is used to mark or hide AI-related videos detected by local title rules. Facebook and Instagram access is used to hide Meta AI entry points. Required extension permissions are used for local settings, opening tabs, injecting scripts on supported pages, and submitting New Tab searches through the browser's default search provider.
Diagnostics
Debug and diagnostic information stays local unless you manually copy or share it. Diagnostics may include enabled module states, local match counts, last local status messages, and browser language information. Diagnostics are not automatically uploaded.
Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Website information you provide
If you contact My AI Off or subscribe for updates through myaioff.com, the site may receive the details you submit, such as name, email address, message text, topic preferences, and the page URL connected with the request.
Website technical information
The public website may process standard technical information such as browser type, device type, approximate location from IP address, referring pages, viewed URLs, timestamps, basic interaction data, server logs, and performance data. This is used to keep the website reliable, respond to requests, improve product explanations, and protect the site from spam, abuse, and technical misuse.
Sharing
My AI Off does not sell personal information. Website information may be processed by infrastructure, analytics, email, hosting, or security providers only as needed to operate the site and respond to requests. Extension page content is not uploaded by the extension in version 1.
Retention
Contact messages, subscription records, analytics data, and server logs are kept only as long as needed for site operation, support, measurement, legal, or security purposes. Extension settings remain on your device unless you reset the extension, clear browser extension storage, or uninstall it.
Your choices
You can choose not to submit website forms, unsubscribe from updates where available, disable extension modules, revoke extension site permissions in Chrome or Microsoft Edge, reset extension settings, or uninstall the extension at any time.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the product changes. If the extension adds a backend, remote analysis, account system, or analytics inside the extension, this policy must be updated before that behavior is released.
